UTHealth Houston School of Public Healthseeks applicants for an Assistant or Associate level tenure track position with expertise in pediatric population health specifically focused on environmental exposures and childhood health outcomes and prevention and chronic illness management for ourEl Paso location. This may include:

Developmental origins of disease
Pre-conception, pregnancy and early life (the first 1000 days) determinants of health
Health disparities in environmental exposures
Addressing psychosocial, behavioral, and environmental factors associated with pediatric health
Promoting healthy habits
Developmental and intellectual disabilities and delays
Dissemination and implementation research

This position is available in one of the four departments within the school which include Epidemiology, Human Genetics, and Environmental Sciences; Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences; Management, Policy, & Community Health; or Biostatistics and Data Science, depending on qualifications. The successful applicant will work at the El Paso location and be a member of theCenter for Pediatric Population Health.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Provide educational leadership, including classroom teaching and mentoring to graduate and/or medical students.
Have a track record of research publications commensurate with academic rank and demonstrated potential for securing external funding.
Develop and implement research related to community and clinical health initiatives in pediatric populations, including injury and disease prevention, acute care, chronic illness management, and health risk behaviors during adolescence and the transition to adulthood.
Contribute protocols and outcome metrics to El Paso community health and clinical sites, and work collaboratively with UTHealth Houston School of Public Health colleagues to submit research proposals for external funding.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. or Dr.PH. in public health, epidemiology, economics, sociology, anthropology, or a related field; or an M.D. with an accompanying public health graduate degree and 5+ years of research experience in public health or health psychology. Successful applicants will have demonstrated potential as independent researchers with successful experience developing andimplementing research studies,conducting analyses, presenting research findings, and writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.
