Position Type: Casual (15hrs/wk)

Position Length: 5 weeks

Position Summary:

Conduct on-site data collection at locations throughout El Paso County. Collects, edits, processes, and coordinates research data in support of specified research. Records research data in accordance with specified protocol and procedures. This is a Casual (15hrs/wk) position that will last approximately 5 weeks.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Communicate with public in a professional manner.

  • Recruit adults to complete a survey.

  • Conduct on-site data collection at locations throughout El Paso County.

  • Collect and record survey responses efficiently and accurately as appropriate to the specific objectives of the study.

  • Verify data in accordance with specified research protocol and enter data into a computer database and/or spreadsheet application for subsequent analysis.

  • Review and edit data to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.

  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Provide feedback to the Program Manager and Principal Investigator about the data collection process based on observations and conversations with respondents.

  • Clean and sanitize research/technology materials on a regular basis.

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Excel.

  • Ability to work hours determined by shift assignments.

  • Ability to use appropriate information-gathering techniques and analyze and select the best solution (problem solving).

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)

Minimum Education:

High School diploma

Minimum Experience:

Two years related experience with emphasis on public contact.

May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
