The McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houstons Department of Neurology is seeking a Neurohospitalist Assistant Professor, focused on the highest level of patient care to join our program in the Department of Neurology. This employment opportunity is for a neurologist with primary interest in providing acute Neurology care in an inpatient hospital setting.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The selected candidate will alternate weeks on the adult General Neurology services and the Neurology Consult services and provide on call services based at Memorial Hermann Hospital - Katy in Houston, a large tertiary academic hospital, for 26 weeks a year. There are no outpatient responsibilities. These services are teaching services with Neurology residents and potentially a Neuro-hospitalist fellow. An interest or experience in education and quality improvement is recommended.

Qualifications:

  • Graduates of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education

(ACGME) accredited neurology residency

  • Active board-certifications and be licensed in the State of Texas (or eligible to be licensed).

  • Outstanding clinical, interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with excellent administrative and organizational abilities.
