The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston - School of Dentistry invites applicants for one full-time (1.0 FTE) funded, non-tenure, Dentist Anesthesiologist position at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor level in the Bernard and Gloria Pepper Katz Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Responsibilities will include teaching and supervision of students and residents in the discipline of anesthesia and sedation and providing anesthesia services to patients undergoing surgical procedures in University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry clinics and affiliated facilities. Pursuit of scholarly activities and serving on standing and ad-hoc committees is strongly encouraged.

Qualifications:

The applicant must have a dental degree recognized by the Commission on Dental Education of the American Dental Association, or equivalent, and must have successfully completed formal advanced training in dental anesthesia. A current license to practice dentistry or the opportunity to secure a Texas faculty license for dentistry prior to employment will be required. Board certification by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology (or Board eligibility with Board certification within 5 years of employment as a dentist anesthesiologist) is also required. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This is a security sensitive position and thereby subject to Texas Education Code # 51.215. A background check will be required for the final candidate.
