The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of General Surgery at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth is seeking applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery. The Division chiefly operates out of Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The Red Duke Trauma Institute is one of the busiest Level 1 trauma practices in the country and the home of Life Flight.

The candidate should demonstrate a clinical interest in both trauma-based and elective adult hand surgery as well as general plastic surgery reconstruction, specifically traumatic lower extremity microsurgery reconstruction.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Successful candidates would be expected to develop an academic practice with either clinical or basic science research. Educational responsibilities with the plastic surgery residency are strongly encouraged.

Qualifications:

  • Hand Surgery Fellowship

  • CAQ Board Certified or CAQ board eligible

  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Texas

  • Interest and experience in research in hand reconstruction is preferred.
