The McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houstons Department of Neurology is seeking an experienced Stroke Neurologist to serve as the Clinical Stroke Director on the campus of Memorial Hermann Hospital, Texas Medical Center, a Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Position Key Accountabilities:
This full-time faculty member will be responsible for oversight of two clinical services at the hospital and would join a team of 11 stroke neurologists, 2 neurointerventionalists, and 3 Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs).
Clinical responsibilities would include one service week out of three and two days in clinic during off service weeks. Significant protected time for administrative responsibilities is built into the schedule to ensure continued quality metrics at the TMC campus. Physicians with experience enrolling patients into clinical trials are strongly encouraged to apply. Teaching opportunities are available. The position is affiliated with the McGovern Medical school, the 6th largest medical school in the nation, a robust Neurology residency program (with a recent expansion to 10 positions a year) and an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) vascular neurology fellowship program (6-8 fellows annually).
Candidates must be graduates of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency and ACGME vascular neurology fellowship with active board-certifications and be licensed in the state of Texas (or eligible to be licensed).
