Position Summary:

Develops and manages a broad range of highly effective marketing and communications tactics through Project Managment, writing and editing, event planning and/or publications management and/or management of health communications/education programs.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Responsible for overall project management, project budgets, timelines as assigned, and evaluation of project work.

  2. Interacts with faculty, staff, and other appropriate sources, such as donors and patients, sometimes concerning sensitive information.

  3. Works with executive leadership to develop and communicate strategic messages.

  4. Generates ideas for communication strategies and develops related promotional plans, tactics and materials.

  5. Writes news/feature articles for publication.

  6. Collaborates with others in Marketing/ Communications and managers throughout the university.

  7. May interact with corporate or community representatives.

  8. Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.

  9. Performs other duties as assigned.



Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications or allied field.

Minimum Experience:

Seven (7) years of experience in marketing, public relations, communications, writing/editing or related field.

Preferred Experience:

  • Implementation of marketing plans and campaigns, including development and distribution of collateral, ordering giveaways, and planning events.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Experience planning both large and small events, both in person and virtual.

  • Experience managing creative talent, including freelance copywriters and designers.

  • Development of web content, email campaigns, and social media calendars.

  • Skilled using Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and an aptitude for learning new programs quickly as needed.

  • A passion for creating the best experience possible for our patients through our communications and our brand.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
