Position Summary:

This position will coordinate educational content delivery for undergraduate McGovern Medical School courses and provide administrative and educational technology support to faculty. Duties including, but not limited to: updating and maintaining Canvas (LMS) sites; scheduling didactic sessions, simulated patient sessions and exams; maintaining confidential student records and grades in online systems; supporting faculty use of Poll Everywhere audience response system and InteDashboard for team-based learning; maintaining and reporting on curriculum data in One45.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Provides overall coordination and management of a health education program in order to ensure the achievement of its assigned goals and objectives.

  2. Schedules deliveries of all teaching aids materials, lab supplies, and other necessary education tools in a timely manner to ensure the desired educational and training services.

  3. Participates in all phases of a project, in research related activities, including conducting national and regional surveys to collect, code, tabulate, and analyze health data to assist faculty in the preparation of curriculum and audiovisual instructional materials.

  4. Researches and analyzes data pertaining to educational, medical and social trends in order to keep abreast of training techniques, educational materials, and university priorities to achieve quality education.

  5. Recommends and implements policies and procedures to improve the practical clinical experience of the students in a clinical setting. Skills in directing a lecture format and laboratory are required in the basic sciences setting. Recommendations regarding the development and implementation of new policies and procedures to improve medical care, planning, scheduling, and training of students and residents is required in either setting.

  6. Assists course coordinators in classroom teaching assignments, prepares the course syllabi, evaluates classroom presentation, and ascertains that stated behavioral objectives and that course outlines and lesson plans are current in a research and/or educational program setting.

  7. Organizes and coordinates teaching laboratory materials, maintains a list of all existing audiovisual equipment, films, slides, models, and other teaching aids, and makes recommendations for any needed equipment. Maintains current audiovisual instructional library in order to service lab and classroom training. Surveys libraries periodically for the purposes of updating reading references and makes recommendations for the acquisition of new books and other learning materials.

  8. Evaluates, modifies, and updates the curriculum and testing process.

  9. Performs other duties as assigned.



Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

Three years of directly related experience in educational setting.

Experience in classroom teaching preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
