POSITION SUMMARY :

Provides specialized knowledge, skill and competency as an expert in continued development, leadership and management for The Fetal Center (TFC) and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM). Provides education, evaluates needs and implements operational decisions, evaluates quality, safety and service, improving as needed. Oversees and provides prenatal clinical consultation, education, care coordination and counseling to staff and women pregnant with multiple gestations, a fetus with an anomaly or requiring fetal intervention/surgery.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  1. Provides exemplary internal and external customer service supporting the Departmental customer service initiatives.

  2. Ensures fiscal integrity by evaluating budgeted expenses and revenues against actual expenditures by providing monthly updates and plans for variations.

  3. Ensures safe, exemplary care and service of patients educating staff/physicians as necessary. Assists with patient coordination.

  4. Manages the day to day operations of TFC and MFM at UTPB 360.

  5. Oversees and maintains TFC database serving as a liaison with the vendor.

  6. Works with Memorial Hermann Hospital marketing staff coordinating outreach, collateral and other business development efforts. Works with departmental business development for internal efforts.

  7. Represents the Department at national meetings attending TFC exhibit and participating in the meetings as appropriate.

  8. Attends and/or participates in the MFM Departmental Quarterly meeting.

  9. Liaison with Memorial Hermann Hospital Foundation for Fetal Center donor/funding initiatives.

  10. Streamlines business processes and manages infrastructure, facilities, procurement activities, equipment purchases, and inventory within the clinical enterprise.

  11. In conjunction with Department Chair and DMO, prepares for the recruitment of new programs and new faculty including all relevant revenue and expenses.

  12. Manages Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection; hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.

  13. Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded; financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Master’s degree in Nursing Administration or Business Administration preferred.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Seven (7) years of nursing experience in obstetrics as a Registered Nurse, including management required. Experience in Fetal Center outpatient nursing and/or knowledge of operating room procedures preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
