Position Summary:

We are looking for an EPIC Access and Revenue Cycle Application Support Manager to focus on Resolute Professional Billing and Hospital Billing Claims modules. This candidate can be remote or onsite, or any blend of the two as needed. You will provide hands on support for Epic Enterprise Access and Rev Cycle Application and/or Ancillary Application systems. Be responsible for effectively leading the implementation and support functions for the Epic EHR. Provide day to day Epic support, resolves issues, and works on system enhancement/optimization requests in fast paced environment. Complete projects through leadership of others for whom it has line responsibility. Scope of applications or support may be for a specific application or multiple applications of Epic, but in this case we are looking at Resolute PB and HB modules. Serve as liaison and representative to the Epic and Access and Rev Cycle and IT communities, work groups, and governance committee. Perform task analysis, long term and short-term planning, and determining needs of the project and staff. Manage multiple applications through planning, scheduling, assigning, coordinating, resolving and reviewing tasks performed by staff. Responsible for managing the Epic project tasks in particular application area(s). These tasks are moderately complex to highly complex. Negotiate with clients and vendors to deliver projects and tasks within mutually agreed upon deadlines. Manage and participate with system enhancement request process, working with the governance committee to ensure the proper programs/projects are completed as previously negotiated.

This is a full time position that is classified as exempt. You will be eligible for all UTHealth benefits including healthcare options as well as participation in a pension program administered by the State of Texas. Candidates can be able to work remotely, although ideally the employee will be able to handle both onsight and remote scenarios as needed.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Provides hands on support, issue resolution, build and deploy upgrades features and enhancement/optimization features for the EPIC Enterprise Access and Rev Cycle Application systems and integrated systems providing business and functional analysis and communication between Access and Rev Cycle staff/departments and IT resources.

  2. Manages a large portfolio of projects throughout the project lifecycle and within scope, schedule, assigns tasks, provide oversight and provide support; evaluates all new releases and functionality of applications in project portfolio on an ongoing basis; partners and collaborates with IS Project Management Office project managers on the implementation of larger, more strategic initiatives.

  3. Interacts and collaborates with all levels of healthcare personnel; IT Management, Physicians, Clinicians, Consultants and Administrators. Provides clear and organized project status reporting to all stakeholders; coordinates team members to gather information and prepare organized, consistent and accurate status reporting.

  4. Maintains an adequate dialogue with direct reports to ensure that everyone understands the strategic and operational direction of the department.

  5. Identifies Access and Rev Cycle system or application needs; performs analysis of current Access and Rev Cycle practices, user needs and work flow processes; documents the current Access and Rev Cycle processes.

  6. Gathers and translates end user requirements and issues into application solutions that satisfy the customers needs.

  7. Coordinates EPIC Enterprise Access and Rev Cycle application testing resources.

  8. Performs configuration analysis for system maintenance and design; facilitates design analysis with healthcare providers/customers to determine configuration.

  9. Cross trains on the various EPIC Access and Rev Cycle applications.

  10. Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.

  11. Performs other duties as assigned.


EPIC certification required in Resolute PB and HB

Expert analytical and problem-solving skills.

Advanced knowledge of MS Office products.

Advanced computing, analytical and organizational skills.

Minimum Education:

Bachelors degree in computer science or related field; or relevant experience in lieu of education

Minimum Experience:

Seven (7) years of experience in Access and Rev Cycle applications support, preferably 5 years of experience with EPIC Access and Rev Cycle as well as experience in Access and Rev Cycle setting either inpatient/outpatient

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
