UTHealth Houston is looking for an Epic Ambulatory Application Analyst who will primarily focus on EpicCare's Ambulatory module. The employee will be responsible for the ongoing design, build, testing, validation, and ongoing support of Epic's Ambulatory module across the health care system. Analysts will need to work with operational stakeholders and IT technical staff to troubleshoot Epic system issues and problems. The analyst will be heavily involved in ongoing application support i.e. break fixes, handling enhancement/optimization requests, and quarterly Epic upgrades. Application Analyst will work with customers at all levels in the organization to enhance their understanding of available tools to enhance operational efficiencies. The Analyst will also be cross-trained to become proficient in multiple applications.
This is a hybrid position and is not completely remote. Applicants will need to live near the Houston area and be able to attend things like quarterly meetings or come on-site as needed by our projects and clients.

Duties will Include:
Responsible for building system components, testing, implementing support, and maintaining assigned Epic applications focusing on Ambulatory.
Perform in-depth analysis, troubleshooting, data collection, and root cause analysis, and then identify and/or implement potential solutions for issues related to the system or its usage.
Analyze/review, and test each product release and communicate needed changes to operations.
Must be able to document and follow system change control procedures for the system.
Work closely with other analysts, software vendors, and operations to ensure that system integrity is maintained and that IT deliverables meet operational business needs.
Research, analyze, facilitate, and implement business and system workflows in order to expedite process improvement and coordinate business practices.
Identify best practices and implement opportunities for standardization.
Attain necessary certifications, as applicable, in a timely manner according to policy.
Provide on-call support for applications.

• Superior communication skills, both oral and written, including specific skills of presentation and the effective communication of complex subjects to non-technical groups.
• Superior customer relation skills, including leading and participating in group sessions and reaching consensus.
• Familiarity with project lifecycle and project management methodologies for software management.
• Ability to plan and manage projects of various sizes; their tasks, dependencies, team members, other resources, and timelines.
• The analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relative systems and programs that cross department/divisional lines.
• Applicants must have an Active Epic certification in EpicCare Ambulatory
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or a related discipline; equivalent years of related experience in health care or information technology will be considered in lieu of degree.
Four (4) years of experience in a health care-related field is required. One (1) year of experience supporting Ambulatory Epic modules is preferred. Large-scale health care systems planning and implementation experience on application software products is preferred.
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
