UTHealth is looking for a financial analyst who will focus on billing and collections in our general business finance office. This employee administers, bills, and tracks receivables, develops metrics reports, and ensures all billing contractual requirements are met. This is not a medical billing role, but rather one that works with projects that can revolve around the post-award process for research grants or clinical trials and general business functions. You must have at least three years of billing and collections experience, and be able to navigate Excel to create reports or track adjustments in existing documents. Any experience with Oracles PeopleSoft program is also a plus.
This is a fulltime role that is classified as salaried but non-exempt. You will be eligible for all UTHealth benefits including healthcare coverage and participation in a pension plan run by the State of Texas. You will work out of an office based in our University Center Tower in the heart of the Texas Medical Center.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Establishes and maintains billing files, including initial review of billing and collection instructions to ensure compliance with contract requirements and timely processing of invoices.
Processes monthly and quarterly billing, including reconciliation of automated billing invoices to revenue and unbilled AR entries. Prepares detailed supporting documentation as required.
Researches, analyzes, and resolves billing discrepancies between external customers. Acts as a liaison between external customer and UTHealth departments.
Develops monthly metric reporting of all assigned accounts and provides data on collection status, and presents results as required.
Conducts audits of assigned projects with internal, UT System, State and/or Federal billing and receivable auditors.
Prepares recommendations of doubtful or write-off accounts for recording monthly delinquent receivables.
Prepares adjustment journal entries as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
At least an Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or finance; or relevant experience in lieu of education.
At least Two (2) years of related experience in billing and collections.
Proficieny with Excel and PeopleSoft is preferred.
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
