Position Summary:

Provides instructional and program electronic-delivery development support for in-house academic courses, distance education and outreach education efforts. Works under close supervision.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Work collaboratively with faculty through the blended and online course development process, including recommending technology tools to be utilized in course

  2. Develops training materials and provide professional development to faculty regarding current research related to best practices for the development and teaching of an online course

  3. Maintains and updates instructional and course-design best practices and course review information on the department website

  4. Provides related support services for instructional resources, troubleshoots and resolves related technology and system access issues, and other related distance education support


  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication

  • Experience in desktop productivity software (such as Microsoft Office, Office 365 and Google Suites for Education)

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies as related to instruction and experience with web technologies, multimedia applications and e-learning technologies

  • Knowledge of best practices in online education and distance education

  • Intermediate knowledge of learning theory and instructional design models

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Curriculum Design or equivalent field required;

  • Masters degree preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience, preferably in instructional design or online course development.

  • One (1) year of experience with one or more of the major LMS, including Blackboard, Desire2Learn, Moodle, or Canvas. Experience with Canvas is preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Full-Time / Non-Exempt / Salaried

  • Pay Range: $42,000/year - $52,600/year based on years of paid experience

  • Location: School of Nursing and Student Community Center @ 6901 Bertner Avenue

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
