The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Dentistry invites applicants for one full-time (1.0 FTE) funded, non-tenure, faculty position in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Instructor level. Interest and experience in major oral and maxillofacial surgery, including orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery and dental implantology is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have experience working or interacting with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds and have a commitment to inclusion and equity.

The School of Dentistry is located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, which offers significant resources and important opportunities for collaboration and advanced training. The School of Dentistry is one of six schools in the most comprehensive health science center in Texas.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Supervision of post-doctoral students and residents in both clinic and hospital settings.

  • Participation in the Department’s intramural practice and pursuit of scholarly activities is strongly encouraged.

Qualifications:

  • Dental degree recognized by the Commission on Dental Education of the American Dental Association, or equivalent

  • Completed advanced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at an accredited institution.

  • A current license to practice dentistry or the opportunity to secure a Texas faculty license for dentistry prior to employment

  • Board certification or Board eligibility in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

The position is available February 2022. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
