UTHealth is looking for a Java Pro who can work with this software and its applications. The software developer provides technical skills required to analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to design solutions to automate or facilitate various education, research, and business processes. Performs Full-Stack development and support for applications of moderate to difficult complexity and scope with regular supervision. Specifically for this role we looking for a strong Java programmer who is also well versed in web application programming and development. You must understand Java tools and also web services programming. You will provide technical skills involving writing and documenting moderate to complex applications and programs.
We need a Java Programmer who can:
work on new and existing Web applications. Experience with JSF/PrimeFaces is preferred.
work on new and existing interfaces with cloud services using RESTful or SOAP Web services.
This is a full time role that will report to our University Center Tower location in the Texas Medical Center. It is a position that is eligible for full benefits including great healthcare coverage and an outstanding pension plan run by the State of Texas.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Develops and implements complex applications, application databases, and interactive Web interfaces according to design specifications and departmental standards; establishes test plans and data; validates and verifies functions in applications; and prepares necessary forms and documentation for implementation.
Interviews clients/users for problem definition and analyzes user needs, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Writes and maintains technical documentation for application requirements, coding standards, and operational procedures.
Maintains, revises, and updates current application code or configuration including troubleshooting, fixing bugs, and improving functionality.
Resolves problems that arise with existing production applications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience with computer hardware, software and programming.
Excellent technical and general communication skills, both oral and written.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or related experience in lieu of education.
Five (5) year of relevant experience.
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
