Coordinates and/or performs maintenance operations necessary to maintain reliable functionally efficient operation of buildings and facilities
Position Key Accountabilities:
Coordinates and/or performs the general maintenance, preventative maintenance and repairs of buildings and facilities.
Provides on-call maintenance assistance
Provides assistance and guidance on high priority and/or difficult jobs and ensures that all work orders are completed in a timely manner.
Maintains and produces various periodic logs, check sheets and reports for management using standard procedures
Conducts building inspections to identify needed maintenance and inspects work in progress or completed work.
Required to carry a university communication device as assigned and respond to calls during normal business hours.
This job classification is designated as "essential" at the UT Health Science Center at Houston. In case of an emergency, "essential" positions are those required to sustain clinical services and/or are responsible for the protection of university assets. Personnel in designated "essential" positions are expected to report to their designated work site during their appointed work schedules, even when the institution has been officially declared to be on "restricted access" or "closed" due to adverse conditions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Current Third-Grade Stationary Engineers License issued by the City of Houston preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent
Three years of related experience in property or building maintenance
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
