Provides advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting in an area of specialization under the direction of a physician.
UTHealth is opening a Bayshore Urgent Care clinic in January 2022. This position will work at our newly renovated clinic directly across the street from our Bayshore Family Practice on Space City Blvd. This is a Part-time non - exempt role eligible for benefits.
The ideal candidate must be an experienced Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) with at least 3 years of experience and 1 year of urgent care experience. This position will start in December 2021 to begin training. This is a part-time position that will be days or evenings; Monday - Friday, 5 PM-9 PM, and weekends, Saturday, 1 PM-9 PM, Sunday, 7 AM-7 PM.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Performs relevant patient assessments and physical examinations.
Coordinates, directs, and implements patient’s plan of care.
Orders, conducts, and interprets pertinent laboratory and diagnostic studies and procedures.
Makes medical recommendations and/or referrals.
Formulates, implements, and evaluates an outcome-based treatment plan.
Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes.
Facilitates patient education relating to medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
Collaborates with patients, families, other clinicians, and referral services to assist in the patient’s recovery.
Other duties as assigned.
Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse
Current Texas Licensure as an APRN-NP, and specialty certification as required by department
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters degree in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
