Position Summary:

Assists with the day-to-day administrative project management of research project of considerable scope and complexity. Assists in recruiting/enrolling participants and engaging community collaborators, as well as take part in the overall implementation and evaluation. Provides outreach and/or lay health education to participants.The ability to travel to various locations throughout Harris County is expected.The individual in this position will be working with the Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics for Underserved Populations (RADxUP) project and will assist in increasing Covid-19 testing and vaccination.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Assists in the day-to-day development, coordination, and implementation of project activities, as well as the monitoring and evaluation process.

  • Provides training, supervision, and guidance to Community Health Workers. Prepares appropriate project training curriculum, delivery methods, and continuing education training for relevant staff.

  • Under supervision, implements project according to specific protocols including some or all the following: participant recruitment, enrollment, intervention delivery, and evaluation.

  • Collects and interprets data. Maintains confidential records of collected data, ensures accuracy and integrity of data. Data may include patient data and departmental programmatic data.

  • Develop and adapt intervention protocols. Prepares reports and communications regarding implementation status and success rates for departmental program/division leadership.

  • Interacts with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies. Collaborates with local organizations and community leaders on event/partnership opportunities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Certification/Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office.

Preferred:

  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.

  • Must be able to travel alone to offsite work locations.

  • English and Spanish fluency is highly preferred.

  • Community Health Worker Certification is a plus.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four years of experience in lieu of degree.

Minimum Experience:

  • None

Preferred:

  • Solid understanding of basic principles of research and evaluation design.

  • Background in public health, research and evaluation, or outcome measurement.

  • Ability to design, modify, or administer written assessment instruments (pre/post tests and surveys)

  • Familiarity with the local community.

Physical Requirements:

  • Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

  • This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
