UTHealth Houston is looking for a Scientific and Clinical Research Recruiter who will assist in hiring top talent in our multiple medical schools and clinical areas. You will be responsible for providing professional recruiting services to help the university meet its current and emerging workforce needs. A recruiting background is helpful, but we are also interested in applicants who have experience in research administration looking to expand into human resources. You should have a science background either through your education or areas you have worked in. This will be a vital part of our university’s recruiting team as our research areas have seen steady growth over the last five years. You will be working exclusively with scientists, physicians, clinical staff, and medical professionals. You must have a passion for learning about these areas, and providing expertise in how to recruit for scientific and research staff. The ideal candidates will be familiar with this area, and have an understanding of scientific and medical research projects.
This employee will work primarily remote, but may be asked to come on-site for departmental meetings, training, or to work directly with clients. The role is eligible for all UTHealth Houston benefits as it is full-time. It is salaried and classified as exempt.

What you will do:
Works with hiring departments handling research projects to assess recruiting needs, develop candidate profiles, develop recruiting strategies, and initiate recruiting efforts.
Coordinates employment advertising and job postings. Strategically looks for chances to advertise in places where academic and research professionals will see postings aimed at them.
Screens candidates and refers them to the appropriate hiring authorities in our scientific areas.
Works with hiring managers to review candidate qualifications and determine appropriate offer amounts.
Extends job offers and coordinates processing of selected candidates.
Compiles data and prepares various activity and specialized reports.
Participates in job fairs and other recruiting activities.
Will work closely with our Office of International Affairs on any candidates needing Visa or sponsorship issues addressed.
Minimum Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent related experience.
Minimum Experience:
1 year of related experience required in either human resources recruiting or research areas particularly in administration.
Experience with an academic or healthcare environment strongly preferred.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
Even though this role is primarily remote, employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
