The Center for Inter-Professional Collaboration is looking for a Senior Program Manager who can step in and help run their simulations for all of the medical schools associated with UTHealth Houston. This employee develops, plans, and manages all activities of a school/unit program(s) or project(s). They also function in a Leadership capacity in the program. You will help to coordinate experiences such as a mass casualty scenario, simulated patient encounters, community engagement, and other educational experiences that help shape the students across all the schools of UTHealth.
The key to this role is organizing an event – planning the logistics, making sure you have the volunteers needed, and even ordering food that might be needed during the day. These programs are sometimes planned up to a year in advance and takes someone who can manage these projects efficiently. Furthermore, managing the center requires an overall understanding of all the events being coordinated, staffing each one appropriately, and recruiting resources to ensure success. You will work with many software tools such as Canvas to communicate with students, COUPA, which is our University's financial system, and Oracle, which manages our staff. You will need to be someone who can manage people, budgets, and events.
You will work a hybrid schedule out of our Jesse Jones Library location and also need to sometimes travel to off-site meetings and events around Houston. Candidates should have at least seven years of experience working with student programs.

Develops, plans, and manages all activities of a school/unit program(s) or project(s). Functions in a Leadership capacity in the program.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Oversees all aspects of the program/project activities. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors project progress. Provides direction and guidance to department personnel.
Stays abreast of new and updated protocols and policies and develops, implements, and manages internal policies and procedures.
Manages compliance and ensures the department follows internal and external rules, regulations, and standards. Oversees inspections and/or reviews and ensures the appropriate personnel have the proper credentials and licensing needed.
Manages/maintains annual budget, negotiates service contracts, reports on progress, and/or authorizes expenditures.
Provide guidance to upper management, keep them informed of key activities, and make periodic progress reports.
Manages partnerships with internal departments regarding strategy and collaborative opportunities.
Prepares progress reports and grant proposals to both private foundations and governmental agencies. May work closely with the Office of Sponsored Projects on the submission of grants.
Interacts with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies regarding proposals and funded projects.
Working in conjunction with Public Affairs, may create and edit various communications materials for the department/program, which may include printed materials, website content, and/or department newsletters.
Communicate with the community and professionals to share objectives and outcomes. Prepares/makes oral presentations at professional meetings.
Manages Human Resources activities for direct report in regards to recruiting and selection, hiring and terminating, training and development, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
Seven (7) years of applicable experience.
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
