Position Summary:

Provides entry level analysis of business and management problems in terms of system requirements, and assists with modifying system design to maximize efficient use of existing data processing systems.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Assists in analyzing, developing, programming, and supporting computer systems for new applications and/or modifying current systems to meet user requirements to efficiently utilize data processing resources.

  2. Analyzes simple new systems and enhancements to accurately address user requirements.

  3. Interacts with and coordinates user/clients to enhance comprehension and acceptance of systems.

  4. Assists with monitoring project implementation and production processing to maximize utilization of new systems and to ensure proper system processing of existing systems.

  5. Assists in the installation of new software and upgrades to existing software to ensure software improvements and enhancements are available.

  6. Assists with providing post-implementation and on-going support to users/clients to ensure that problems are resolved.

  7. Assists with testing and quality assurance reviews to ensure that programs and all work products meet specifications and adheres to departmental standards.

  8. Assists with coding programs to meet specifications and adheres to departmental standards.

  9. Assists with developing program specification to meet system design objectives and requirements and adheres to departmental standards.

  10. Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and programming preferred.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

None.

Experience in applications

testing and Learning Management System such as Moodle preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
