Position Summary:

Supports systems and applications as well as departmental specific systems and applications.

Location: Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center/HCPC at UTHealth

Dept.: Management Information Systems

Status: Full-Time

FLSA: Exempt

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Installs, configures, maintains, repairs, and otherwise supports various systems and applications, which may include specialized systems, desktop computers, software, applications, and related equipment in a networked environment.

  2. Troubleshoots servers, systems, and applications, which may include desktop services or other systems; recommends improvements.

  3. Documents each troubleshooting case, annotating all updates to ensure proper documentation of the final resolution.

  4. Maintains inventory information of servers, desktop services, and equipment.

  5. Participates and executes rollouts/deployments, migrations and upgrades as part of the IT team.

  6. Advises department or school and provides them with IT solutions.

  7. Provides user training, which may include proper use of various technology as well as core computer and application skills training.

  8. Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • MCSE and/or A+ preferred

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.

Minimum Education:

Associate’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

Three (3) years of related experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
