Analyst, Billing and Collections (SOD-DB Patient Services) Medical and Dental Billing and Coding Experience

Administers, bills, and tracks receivables, develops metrics reports, and ensures all billing contractual requirements are met.
Responsible for daily entry, reconciliation, interchange and analysis of all activity between bank lockbox and general ledger. Ensures all payments transactions are fully accounted for, credited and debited between bank account, practice management system and ledgers.
In addition, all billing related functions (charges, A/R follow up, and payment processing)
Maintains all payer updates; changes to insurer’s rules and regulations.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Establishes and maintains billing files, including initial review of billing and collection instructions to ensure compliance with contract requirements and timely processing of invoices.
Processes monthly and quarterly billing, including reconciliation of automated billing invoices to revenue and unbilled AR entries. Prepares detailed supporting documentation as required.
Researches, analyzes, and resolves billing discrepancies between external customers. Acts as a liaison between external customer and UTHealth departments.
Develops monthly metric reporting of all assigned accounts and provides data on collection status, and presents results as required.
Conducts audits of assigned projects with internal, UT System, State and/or Federal billing and receivable auditors.
Prepares recommendations of doubtful or write-off accounts for recording monthly delinquent receivables.
Prepares adjustment journal entries as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or finance; or relevant experience in lieu of education.
Two (2) years of related experience.
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
